Duchess of Cambridge debuts straightened hair in new virtual engagement vid

The Duchess of Cambridge surprised fans by appearing in a new virtual engagement with particularly straight hair.
The Duchess has teamed up with the Duchess of Cornwall to release a new video appearance on Monday night, in which the couple made a video call with three of their children's hospice patrons.
38-year-old Kate, dressed in an emerald green dress by Diane Von Furstenberg, was pictured with a relaxed, straight hair dryer and a sweeping side when called from her home in Note Hall in Norfolk, where she isolated with husband Prince William, 38 and her three children.
The Duchess is famous for her characteristic springy blow dryers, but this time seemed to have chosen to keep her long curls straight instead of rocking her trademark waves.
The mother of three also seemed to have decided to part her hair a little further to the side.

According to a stylist, the Duchess' latest straight look is the latest in a long line of simple, classic styles the king played during the coronavirus pandemic.
Hairdresser James Johnson believes the Duchess may have opted for simplicity during the coronavirus lock.
"Kate is a hair icon worldwide, known for her bouncy hair, but when it comes to skills, it's more difficult to recreate her more structured and bouncy look at home," he told FEMAIL.

“So this side-split style is perfect for someone who has less hair styling skills. This hairstyle is soft and therefore easier to style, but also retains its refined look when locked down.
He added: “The side parting opens her face and shows her amazing cheekbones. It is also a practical trick to cover firm young talent lines in the middle. "
