Duke and Duchess of Cambridge accused of 'inadvertently' flouting the rule of six

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were accused last night of "accidentally" breaking the rule of six after meeting the Earl and Countess of Wessex with their children at a Christmas attraction.
The Cambridges were photographed on Sunday evening in Luminate, a forest walk on the Queen's Sandringham estate, with their three children Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte (five) and Prince Louis (two).

They appeared to be dating the Wessexes and their two children, Lady Louise Windsor, 17 and James Viscount Severn, 13.
Both groups arrived separately, the Cambridge from their home in Norfolk, Anmet Hall, and the Wessexes from their home, Bagshot Park, Surrey.
They had been given consecutive slots to enter the mile-long lighted path, but other visitors said the two families were clearly mingling and talking.
Norfolk is in Tier 2, which means that only six people can meet outdoors if they are not from the same household.
All of Surrey, Bar Waverley, is in Tier 4, which means residents shouldn't travel to any other tier.
A viewer told the Daily Mail: “In my opinion, they clearly violated the Covid rules because nine of them came from two separate households.
"I couldn't help but think that it was one rule for her and another for the rest of us. It was pretty obvious really."
A royal source told the newspaper that any contact was unintentional and that the two families had been given consecutive slots for the trail before it opened to the public.
"As anyone with young children will know, there are moments on the 90-minute walk when it was difficult to tell the two family groups apart, especially when there were bottlenecks along the way," they said.
