Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, John Krasinski surprise widowed father for Christmas
John Krasinski is back on a special holiday episode of "Some Good News" and has enlisted the help of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to get the Christmas cheer up.
Krasinski introduced his favorite "hero parent" of the week: Jay Abel. A widowed father of two, like most people during the pandemic, Abel had financial problems but didn't want to ruin Christmas. He put all of his favorite things up for sale on eBay so he could buy his kids' gifts.
"I'm just trying to be what I want a father to be. I'm not doing anything special," Abel Krasinski said during the December 20 episode. "I'm a collector. They are my favorite things. But my children are more important than me."
"The Office" alum revealed that he had tried to buy some collectibles from Abel's eBay store, but Abel blocked his transaction because he believed Krasinski was a "scammer". Unable to help, Krasinski turned to his friend Dwanta Claus - aka Johnson.
Abel tweeted at Johnson earlier this month to help him gain a foothold for his online store.
"I was really moved by your tweet," said Johnson. "Of all the things you could have asked me ... the only thing you wanted was a retweet. I thought Dwanta Claus could do better than a retweet."
Johnson told Abel to take all of his memorabilia off eBay because he would take care of his children's Christmas list.
"I also want your children to know what kind of father they have," said Johnson. "So, I hear you like comics ... when this is all done and if it's safe, I want you to come to Southern California and see us in the DC Universe and we show you around, give you a whole lot cooler DC swag. "
Johnson wasn't quite finished spreading joy. He let Abel know that once he has made "Black Adam" he will sign the script and give it to him.
"Thanks, I'm speechless, thank you Rock," said Abel.
