E! News ' Morgan Stewart Diagnosed with Thyroid Condition After Scary Symptoms: 'I Was Terrified'
E! News' Morgan Stewart urges women to take care of their health after trying to overcome "overwhelming" symptoms that turned out to be thyroid disease.
The Daily Pop co-host, who welcomed her first child, daughter Row, with husband Jordan McGraw on February 17, announced on her Instagram story on Wednesday that she had felt "completely gone" for the past nine weeks .
"At first it was the little things that caught my eye," she said, explaining that her symptoms began with dizziness, fatigue, sluggishness, and joint pain. Stewart said she didn't think it was postpartum depression, “so I was able to put my symptoms aside. I just thought this was my new 'normal' and my new 'groove' with a newborn. "
But two weeks later, Stewart was home when she "started disappearing from me all of a sudden," feeling dizzy, tingling, blurry and panicking. "I had the feeling that I had become very small in my own body and that I no longer had it under control."
Again, Stewart attributed her symptoms to postpartum, but they continued for the next few weeks. At the end of May, they became even more frightening when she saw them driving.
"My whole right arm went numb and I felt myself vanish from myself again, but much more intensely," she said. “I was scared ... my arm wasn't working. It felt hard to pick it up, almost as if it belonged to someone else. "

Stewart stopped and called McGraw who helped her get home and get something to eat. "But I got more and more incoherent," she said. "I no longer spoke proper English and was no longer able to communicate efficiently. I was just lost in panic and insecurity."
She then spoke to doctors who told her to rest and took her blood for tests. The intense symptoms persisted throughout the week and while vacationing in Napa Valley. When Stewart returned, her doctor confirmed that she had a thyroid problem.
The doctor said, "She's incredibly surprised to find this, but my thyroid is so off the charts in overdrive, it's basically in space," explained Stewart. “Thyrotoxic was the term she used to describe it. We went to her office immediately and she explained that it could be one of three things: a lump in my thyroid, Graves disease, or subacute thyroiditis (anything that can be caused by pregnancy). "
Stewart has since been resting at home and taking a small dose of Xanax "to work all day." Your doctor has since ruled out Graves' disease and will determine if Stewart has subacute thyroiditis or a lump in his throat by the end of the week.
