El Salvador bar attack: Six people shot dead

The director of the National Civil Police, Mauricio Arriaza Chicas, said three men were involved in the attack
Five men were killed while drinking and playing dominoes in a bar in El Salvador's capital, San Salvador, on Sunday.
A sixth who was working in a junkyard across the street was shot while fling when he heard the gunfire.
Police said three men were involved in the attack and one man was arrested in connection with the shooting.
In total, the violence on Sunday in El Salvador resulted in 13 deaths.
The rise in murders comes a month after the online newspaper El Faro alleged that President Nayib Bukele's government did a favor to detained street gang leaders to reduce violence and support elections.
In an interview with BBC Central America correspondent Will Grant last month, El Salvador's prison director Osiris Luna Meza denied that such a deal had been made.
El Salvador did a favor to jailed gang leaders, a report said
Has the El Salvador government made a deal with gangs?
El Salvador has one of the highest homicide rates in the world, many of them gang-related.
In the first half of the year, the number of murders fell by 62.8% compared to the same period last year, according to official figures.
President Bukele, who took office in June 2019, is taking much of the credit for this decline.
He was elected with a promise to reduce El Salvador's crime rate. His "Territorial Control Plan" is to focus security forces on areas worst hit by gangs.
There have been more than 30 days since he took office without a reported murder. Mr. Bukele, an avid user of social media, was parting on Twitter these days.
He posted quickly on Twitter on Sunday, but this time wrote that he had called a meeting of his security cabinet to "fight the top of the killings."
He said he wanted to see "concrete results" from the police.
Police said the man they arrested after Sunday's attack on the bar was a gang member, but they have not yet commented on any possible motive.
Local media said the bar owner was among the victims, who were between 19 and 63 years old.
Witnesses said the attackers entered the bar and opened fire at close range without saying a word.
