Elizabeth Hurley breaks silence about ex Steve Bing's death: 'It is a terrible end'
Elizabeth Hurley talks about the death of her ex Steve Bing, a producer and film financer who was also the father of Hurley's 18-year-old son Damian.
The actress and model shared a number of old photos of Bing, whom she dated from 2000 to 2001, in an Instagram post on Tuesday - a day after his death at the age of 55, reportedly by suicide. While Hurley and Bing had a complicated relationship - sometimes bitter - they announced that they had reconnected last year. She said she would remember the "good, wonderful memories" while recognizing that there were "hard times".
"I am incredibly sad that my ex Steve is no longer with us," Hurley wrote. "It's a terrible ending."
Hurley called their "time together was very happy and I post these pictures because even though we have had some tough times, the good, wonderful memories of a sweet, kind man are important."
In conclusion, she explained: “Last year we got close again. We last spoke on our son's 18th birthday. "It was April 4th." This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their nice news. "

Damian, Hurley's only child, also broke his silence in a post that was shared at the same time.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who looked around for the devastating news," wrote the model. "I try to answer as many of you as possible, but please know that I will always remember your kindness. This is a very strange and confusing time and I am very grateful to be surrounded by my phenomenal family and friends to be. "
After Hurley's very public separation from Hugh Grant in 2000, she dated Bing, a real estate sprout, and became pregnant a year later. While Hurley said he was the father, Bing said they had a short, non-exclusive relationship. He called it Hurley's "decision to be a single mother" while saying he would support the child if it were his.
After Damian was born in 2002, Bing initiated a paternity process to determine that he was the father, which made Hurley "extremely desperate", but the DNA results indicated that Bing was the father.
Damian later had to fight to trust his grandfather Dr. Peter Bing to be accepted - and prevailed.
Hurley, who raised Damian solo, chose six godparents for her son, including Grant and Elton John.
Bing was found dead near his luxury apartment in Century City, California on Monday. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner said it was a reported suicide.
