It's National Coming Out Day and Ellen DeGeneres marks the occasion with a beloved picture.
On Sunday, DeGeneres shared an intimate photo of herself being hugged by Ms. Portia de Rossi. The couple started dating in 2004 and got married in 2008.
“We're celebrating coming out while we're all in,” joked the talk show host, who was notoriously faced with backlash after seeing her ABC sitcom canceled after it went public in 1997 for being a lesbian.
While numerous political figures and allies posted messages of support, other LGBTQ stars shared their own stories and expressions of solidarity.
