Ellie Goulding becomes a mother!
The 34-year-old singer "Love Me Like You Do" and her husband Caspar Jopling are expecting their first child together, she told Vogue and added that they have been together for 30 weeks. Goulding, who tied the knot with Jopling in August 2019, tells the magazine that she was "pregnant and had no idea" during a show at the V&A Museum last August.
"That was [roughly] the time when Caspar and I went away briefly, when we were allowed to celebrate our one-year anniversary, and we basically found that out," she says. "It was crazy because it was our one year anniversary. That wasn't the plan. The thought of getting pregnant didn't seem to be a reality. When I got pregnant, I felt kind of human."
"I want a better word than 'feminine', [but] - I have curves that I've never had before. I enjoy it. My husband enjoys it," adds Goulding.
Goulding recalls that at first she easily "denied" and didn't believe she was actually pregnant. But when more changes happened in the first trimester, she had to adjust. "I had a completely different body and a different energy, I couldn't handle everything," she says.

"I was no longer complacent about how healthy my salads and breakfast were and how I ate nuts and seeds, and then all I wanted was McDonalds," says Goulding with a laugh.
"And I was kind of scared. I suddenly wanted all the bad things! Whatever that baby did when it took over my body was like, 'Hell no - I don't want broccoli, spinach, collards! I just wanted sugar and carbohydrates . '""
Goulding says she is "excited to be a mother" despite the unplanned timing of the pregnancy. She admits that expecting a child during an ongoing pandemic can be lonely. The singer adds that she has faced some challenges in her pregnancy so far.
"The illness and fatigue was nothing that I had ever experienced before," she shares. "I think it's taboo to talk about pregnancy as a challenge. It's not always calm and like you aren't always glowing. I'm not saying that every second of this pregnancy has been miserable."
She continues. "It won't always be easy. [But] I have a new respect for every woman who has children."
