The Inspiration4 crew, consisting of four non-astronauts, launched on Wednesday on board SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft. They landed back on earth on Saturday evening.
Elon Musk tweeted Monday that he met the crew in person in Florida and then answered questions from Twitter users about the company's plans for the next mission.
In response to a user, Musk said the next flight would have "upgraded toilets" and added, "We had some challenges on this flight."
The billionaire did not provide any information about these challenges or how exactly the toilets would be upgraded.
Jared Isaacman, one of Inspiration4's passengers, told Insider in July that the toilet for Crew Dragon is on the ceiling of the spaceship and has a glass dome, meaning crew members had a 360-degree view while using the bathroom .
"It's not a lot of privacy. But you have that kind of privacy curtain that cuts through the top of the spacecraft so you can separate yourself from everyone else," Isaacman said.
Isaacman added that learning to use the toilet on the spaceship was part of the civilian astronauts' rigorous pre-flight training.

Musk also said the next flight would have a small food heating oven and WiFi from Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet project.
The Inspiration4 mission crew took cold pizza with them on their three-day flight. In space they chatted with Musk and the actor Tom Cruise.
