F1 to introduce new TV graphics for 2020

F1 to launch new TV graphics for 2020
Formula 1 will show a variety of new television graphics this season to provide fans with more information.
As part of its collaboration with Amazon Web Services, it was announced that F1 will provide six new real-time graphics as part of the 2020 campaign.
The first of these, which is scheduled for the Austrian Grand Prix at the season opening, offers fans a "Car Performance Score".
This is based on a series of statistics on the strengths of the vehicle, including power, grip, downforce and drag. Four key figures are offered: cornering at low speed, cornering at high speed, straight line and car handling.
From the second race at Silverstone in August, known as the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, there will be an ultimate driver speed comparison to compare current drivers from the past. The data are from 1983.
At the Belgian Grand Prix, fans can see how well drivers handle fast corners (over 175 km / h) and slow speeds (under 125 km / h) using high / low speed graphics.
In the second half of the season, F1 and AWS plan to introduce three different graphics: one for the assessment of driver skills, one for car / team development and overall season performance, and one last for graphics for qualification and racing speed prediction.

The Driver Skills Rating aims to determine the best overall driver by taking into account various achievements - such as qualification, starts, race pace, tire management and overtaking / defense styles.
So far, F1 has released six original graphics, including Exit Speed, Predicted Pit Stop Strategy, Pit Window, Battle Forecast, Pit Strategy Battle and Tire Performance.
Rob Smedley, chief engineer of F1, said: "The F1 Insights that we deliver together bring fans closer to the track than ever before and open up previously untold stories and insights behind the pit wall.
"We look forward to expanding this successful relationship to gain even more insight into life so that fans can delve deeper into the diverse ways that drivers and racing teams work together to influence success."
