Voice actor Mike Henry said on Friday on Twitter that he would no longer speak the Cleveland Brown character in Fox's animated Family Guy.

Henry has been a voice with Family Guy since his debut in 1999. He also spoke to Latina maid Consuela in the animated series.
The announcement follows two more animated series that re-populated mixed races voiced by white actors: Jenny Slate on Big Mouth and Kristen Bell on Central Park.
"It's been an honor to play Cleveland with Family Guy for 20 years. I love this character, but colored people should play colored characters, so I'm going to step back from the role," wrote Henry.
There have been no other reactions from show producers or performers.
