Fatalities after attack on Rohingya refugee camp

Police said several people were killed in an attack on a Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh on Friday (October 22).
It is the most recent incident of violence in the largest refugee settlement in the world.
A gun-armed gang attacked a religious school in the Ukhiya neighborhood of Cox's Bazar before dawn.
A high-ranking police officer announced that teachers, volunteers and students were among the dead.
He added that a Rohingya man had been arrested with guns and ammunition.
More than a million Rohingya live in several refugee camps in southern Bangladesh.
Most had fled neighboring Myanmar during a military raid in 2007.
Local residents say the sprawling settlements have become increasingly violent, with armed gangs vying for power, kidnapping critics and warning women against breaking conservative Islamic norms.
