Ford Maverick is about the size of a Bronco Sport in spy photos, just longer

One of the questions we've asked the most about the Ford Maverick is how big is it. We saw it next to Rangers and it certainly looks smaller in comparison. But now that one of our spy photographers caught it right in front of a Bronco Sport, we have a crystal clear idea of its size and it's pretty small.
Next to the baby bronco, the maverick appears to be roughly the same overall height. Not only that, the hood appears to be about the same height, and the front end appears to be a similar length. Of course, the Maverick is longer overall and has a longer wheelbase to accommodate the cargo area, but it's noteworthy how close its dimensions appear to the small crossover network. This also suggests that the Maverick will be very similar in size to the recently unveiled Hyundai Santa Cruz, which is significantly shorter than other relatively small trucks like the Nissan Frontier and the Toyota Tacoma.
Not much else can be seen in these photos. The Maverick looks as boxy and upright as ever, a stark contrast to the swoopy Santa Cruz. The chunky black plastic bumpers, rocker arms, and bed rails give it a sturdy, functional look. We suspect the truck will be fully revealed sometime this year, considering how close the prototypes seem to be to production.
