Former teacher at IMG Academy arrested on charge of having sex with student

A former teacher at IMG Academy in Bradenton was arrested for having sex with a student.
Taylor J. Anderson, 38, was arrested by detention officers Monday night for sexual harassment, was traveling to meet a minor, and was transferring harmful material to a minor, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.
Sheriff officials said IMG staff contacted them on Sept. 14 to report the allegations.

“The IMG administration had heard rumors of an illegal relationship and was quick to confront this student to confirm whether the rumors were true. The student admitted having sex with Taylor Anderson, a teacher at IMG, "the sheriff's office said in a press release. "She was not left on campus by IMG employees and was released a short time later."
Investigators learned that Anderson had communicated with the student through social media and text for several weeks. In July, she took the student to the beach, "where the couple committed sexual acts in Anderson's vehicle," the Sheriff's Office said in the press release.
Anderson initially refused to speak to investigators who received search warrants for her home, vehicle and phone.
Detectives later received an arrest warrant for Anderson but were unable to locate her. MPs said she spent several days "dodging MPs," including a brief trip out of the state, before turning in on Monday night.
