Fox Has Lost 30% of Its Viewers This Season – and CBS Declines Are Even Worse
We knew this fall TV season was going to suck, and now we pretty much know how much it sucks - at least in terms of TV ratings. At this point in the Fall 2019 TV season, Fox was number 1 with an average rating of 2.1 among adults aged 18 to 49. NBC was pretty close behind at 1.9, according to Nielsen. A year ago, CBS and ABC took third place with 1.2 each in the population group sought by the advertiser. A year later, things have changed - and not for the better. Through December 13, 2020, Fox averages 1.5 and NBC averages 1.3. ABC is in third place alone with 1.1 and CBS in fourth place with 0.9. These numbers include one week of delayed viewing and focus on regularly scheduled prime time programs. Averages include sports and news, but exclude politics.
