Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt Shuts Down Ted Cruz’s Attack on Chris Wallace: ‘He’s Part of Our Family’

Fox News' Ainsley Earhardt stopped Senator Ted Cruz's attack on colleague Chris Wallace on Thursday morning during Fox & Friends.
"Look, I think the president is right about that," said Cruz of President Donald Trump's announcement that he would not participate in a virtual debate. "And unfortunately I think this is a pattern that we saw during the debates where the moderators and the Debate Committee acted like Joe Biden Campaign weapons. I think at the first debate, Chris Wallace has a terrible one Did a moderator job. I think Susan Page moderated better last night. She didn't interrupt that much. "
He continued to discuss how he believed a virtual debate would "benefit" Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

When she had to respond, Earhardt responded to Wallace's comments: “Well, just to defend Chris Wallace, he's part of our family and it's not easy to debate - to moderate a debate - and I've seen other moderators say at times when you I'm up there on the stage - all the time when you're up there on the stage - and you are responsible for asking the questions. You see something different from what the audience at home sees, and it's a difficult situation. I thought Chris did a great job and he's one of our friends and part of our family, Ted Cruz. "
The Republican Senator said he understood, and Earhardt went on, “All right. I just wanted to make this clear because we love him. "
After last week's debate, Wallace said he had "never been through anything like this" and reflected on the "desperation" he felt from the moderator's seat in order to gain control of the evening.
"I'm a professional. I've never seen anything like it," Wallace told the New York Times last Wednesday. "I never thought it would go off the rails the way it was."
