Fox News' John Roberts Uses War Analogy To Describe Preparing For Trump Rally In Pandemic

Fox News' John Roberts said he is taking all "reasonable steps" to report President Donald Trump's Saturday rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The chief correspondent of the conservative network in the White House, who had already called Trump on previous occasions, used a war analogy to explain on Friday how he was preparing to report on the indoor event at the BOK center with a capacity of 19,000 people that several public health experts had warned could boost the spread of the virus.
"It's like digging a trench every night to sleep in during the invasion of Iraq," wrote Roberts, who teamed up with US troops to report the 2003 invasion to CBS News.
"They are taking all necessary steps to protect themselves," he added.

The Trump campaign has been largely criticized for its decision to advance the rally. She added a waiver to her website, informing attendees that they could not complain if they became infected at the event.
Senator James Lankford (R-Okla.) Has even asked people at high risk for COVID-19 to stay away. The confirmed number of coronavirus cases in Oklahoma is now rising to record levels.
Given Roberts' battle comparison, many Twitter users asked why the rally took place at all.

I think if a Fox News journalist compares the risk of reporting a rally about it with the start of the Iraq war, it's a pretty good indicator of the wisdom to hold such an event.

@eshap
This time a Fox News reporter compared a political rally to a war zone because it is actually so dangerous.

Question: What is the Tulsa Trump rally like the invasion of Iraq?
A. Both were completely unnecessary and were mainly done to caress the ego of men with father problems

If you need to use war as an analogy for a voluntary event, that event may not occur

Yes, it's a bad sign to compare a pandemic rally to coverage of actual foreign struggles.
