Frito-Lay employee speaks out against company after being electrocuted, denied care

Frito-Lay worker Brandon Ingram talks about the pain, trauma and harassment he suffered after allegedly receiving a serious electric shock at work, which left him disabled and medical care.

Brandon and his wife, Melissa, claim that they and their four young children are being stalked and secretly filmed by Company agents. Melissa started GoFundMe to raise funds for her beauty business, which she describes as "our last hope for a future."
In a lengthy statement shared on the campaign page and on the More Perfect Union video, Melissa unpacks the day her husband nearly died at work when he was allegedly electrocuted. Watch her share the story about the clip below.

The electric shock was severe and caused many health problems. He's had two spinal surgeries so far and we know for sure that there will be another next year. We're not sure how many surgeries it will take in total. It's a frightening situation and it was made worse by Frito-Lay and PepsiCo's treatment of our family. It's been over 4 years and we're still fighting for my husband's life with no company support. You deny responsibility for the accident even though the incident occurred at the workplace. We have done everything she and her insurance company asked us to do, but it is still not enough.
Melissa accuses Frito-Lay of treating his workers “like slaves” who “throw them away like garbage when they are no longer able to work their inhuman hours”.
She recalls her husband joining the Frito Lay team in St. Louis, Missouri, after returning home from serving in the Navy. He eventually became "responsible for four different positions" and "literally broke his back working 84 hours a week."
"We want justice for our pain and suffering as well as all medical bills that we had to pay ourselves," says the campaign.
The family claims that Frito-Lay and PepsiCo refused to “provide disability or disability benefits,” and that the couple “used up all of our savings and pensions, even our college funds for children. We had to change our goals and reschedule our entire lives around this devastating injury. "
