Gabby Petito missing: Brian Laundrie's mom confronted outside home as hunt moves deeper into Florida reserve

Brian Laundrie's mother was spotted outside her home on Sunday morning when Florida authorities resumed the search for Laundrie in the deeper parts of a conservation area where he was last seen.
Gabby Petito, 22, has been missing for almost a month. Her mother Nicole Schmidt said she last spoke to her daughter on August 25, and the family filed a missing person report on September 11. Police called Laundrie, Petito's fiancée, an interesting person last week as the search for Petito intensified. but his family reported him missing on Friday.
Florida authorities began looking for Laundrie, 23, on the Carlton Reservation, a 25,000-acre reservation about five miles from the family home. Laundrie reportedly went hiking on the reservation on September 14th.

Police visited Laundrie's home to collect some of his clothing to help K-9 units track down Laundrie. The search began on Saturday when officers in body armor entered the reserve prepared for a potentially agitated encounter.
The Laundrie family has been out of sight since Friday, but Roberta, Laundrie's mother, was spotted outside their house on Sunday morning. She refused to answer any questions and quickly returned.
Meanwhile, on the second day of their search, the police moved deeper into the reservation and crossed the Myakkahatchee Creek Bridge into the wider part of the reservation. Police found that a team of more than 50 officers broke into Sunday morning.

Police used K-9 units and amphibious vehicles as part of the search.
Police have repeatedly stressed that Laundrie is a person of interest and not a suspect in Petito's disappearance.

"It is important to note that while Brian is a person of interest in Gabby's disappearance, he is not wanted for a crime," North Port police said in a statement Friday. It added that the investigation was now a "multiple missing persons" case.
The FBI appealed to anyone who may have been in the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area, where Petito and Laundrie allegedly spent some time in late August, to come forward and provide agents with their information.
A TikTok user posted a series of videos on Friday and Saturday describing an encounter with a man she claimed to be Laundrie and a family walking through Grand Teton National Park, where Petito was last known posted a video on YouTube Sunday morning that appeared to briefly show Petito's white van in the park on August 27 - three days after her mother last spoke to her.
North Port Police have confirmed that they have spoken to TikTok user Miranda Baker about any information she has.
YouTube user "Red White & Bethune" alleged that the FBI had requested the video as evidence. Fox News reached out to the FBI for confirmation, but they have not responded yet.
