Gennadiy Golovkin sets record with 7th-round TKO vs. Kamil Szeremeta
Gennadiy Golovkin set a record for most middleweight title defense after slightly defeating Kamil Szeremata via TKO in the 7th round on Friday night.
Golovkin was defending his middleweight title for the 20th time and retained the IBF and IBO crowns. With the win, Golovkin is now sitting at 41-1-1 throughout his career.
Though nothing has been confirmed, Golovkin said he will be watching Canelo Alvarez's upcoming bout against Callum Smith with keen interest, as fans hope for a rematch of their bout in September 2018, with Canelo emerging as the winner after 12 rounds.
In their first match against each other, Canelo and Golovkin had to draw a draw after 12 rounds.
Pictures often speak louder than words, and in the video above you can see the highlights of Golovkin's victory over Szeremata.
