Goal of the World Cup? Brazil's Richarlison breaks insane scissor kick vs Serbia originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
We may have an early favorite for the 2022 FIFA World Cup best goal.
On day five of the Qatar-hosted tournament, Brazilian striker Richarlison had a moment of individual brilliance in a 2-0 win over Serbia.
In the 73rd minute at the Lusail Stadium, Vinicius Jr. fed the ball to Richarlison in the middle of the Serbian penalty area. Richarlison controlled the pass by tossing the ball in the air with his left foot.

He then turned with his back to goal before firing a scissors jab into the back net.
Just breathtaking.
The insane goal gave Brazil a 2-0 lead and Richalison scored his second of the game.
The 25-year-old Tottenham star broke the goalless tie in the 62nd minute by saving a rebound after a shot by Vinicius Jr.
Although the final score might not reflect that accurately, Brazil looked like a dangerous team in their opening game. The Brazilians, who were No. 1 in the FIFA rankings before the World Cup, scored eight shots on goal and 22 in total against Serbia.
Brazil, who are now at the top of Group G, will try to keep things going when they take on Switzerland on Monday.
