Greg Mathis Jr. and His Boyfriend Are Taking a Big Step in Their Relationship

Goodbye Washington DC and hello Los Angeles.
After sharing his coming-out story on Mathis Family Matters, Greg Mathis Jr. and his boyfriend Elliott Cooper take the next step in their relationship. On the June 26 episode of the E! reality series, the couple decided it was time to say goodbye to Greg's parents, Judges Greg Mathis and Linda Mathis, and move out and find an apartment of their own.
They made the decision in California, but not before discussing their first date in D.C. had thought. "Me and Elliott met on Valentine's Day," Greg Jr. recalled. "Was a little drunk went back to me and let's just say we haven't read the Bible."
Getting back on topic, Elliott - who's from the South - said while he hasn't adjusted to the LA lifestyle yet, he wants Greg Jr. to be happy. And what would make Greg Jr. happy is living closer to his parents and siblings Amir Mathis, Jade Mathis and Camara Mathis Webb and their family.

Greg Jr. admitted this himself in a confessional, stating, "I know Elliott is the man I want to be with. I also know that I want to be in Los Angeles. I don't want to be in a position where I have to choose between Elliott and my family, so I have to convince Elliott that LA is where we both need to be permanently."

They weren't the only Mathis family members to officially move to the West Coast, as Greg Jr. asked Jade to move to LA with him and Elliott. "Greg and Elliott don't realize how much it means to me that they asked me to live with them," Jade said. "You have been my rock, especially during some difficult times in D.C., and that means so much to me."
After serving many years as a D.C. Jade explained that severe cases were taking their toll - something that was particularly concerning as she lives with a mental illness. But after moving to LA, Jade shared that she's "starting to feel alive again."
After checking out a few homes, the trio finally landed on one they could call "home." Greg Jr. knew it would take time for Elliott to get used to the cross-country move, but also that "small win after win will eventually lead to a full win."

"Part of getting that house is knowing how much it's really going to make Elliott like LA just a little bit more," he added. "It has all the things he would love."
