Ground beef sold at Walmart, other stores recalled for possible E. coli contamination
Nearly 43,000 pounds of ground beef, including packaging sold in Walmart stores, are being recalled for possible E. coli contamination.
The Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced late Saturday that Lakeside Refrigerated Services of Swedesboro, New Jersey, is recalling selected packages of ground beef that were manufactured on June 1.
The products sold under brand names such as Thomas Farms and Marketside Butcher may be contaminated with the strain Escherichia coli O157: H7 and have the company number “EST. 46841 ”within the USDA certification mark according to the recall notification.

The recall notification states that the problem was discovered during routine testing and no confirmed reports of "side effects from consuming these products" were released.
