Guy Fieri brings Flavortown to Philadelphia to open two new restaurants in a casino. The restaurants serve burgers and tacos and are located in the Philadelphia Live! Casino & Hotel.
The Philadelphia Inquirer covered the news, stating that the two "joints" are meant to be casual, yet high-energy food places. "I call it a 'joint' because what is a joint?" Guy said in an interview with the newspaper. "A joint is 'Hey, what are you doing? My buddy has that joint on the way.'"
Guys food is usually contained in grocery halls in various casinos across the country, and he loves having his food available to people while they enjoy their time out in these surroundings. "It's a group of people who love food, like to go out, entertain, appreciate food, appreciate the energy behind food, the whole thing. We're excited. It's getting bigger than it is," he said.
His two upcoming restaurants in Philly will serve tacos and burgers. The taco shop has salsas, guacamole, cocktails, margaritas, and a list of Mexican beers. The burger joint offers Guy's Smash Burger with processed cheese and donkey sauce made from garlic, mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire, salt and pepper.
The casino is slated to open in early 2021 and will include a number of restaurants within 10th Street Market, including a pizzeria, noodle bar, bakery, and 24-hour bar, as well as Guy's upcoming food ventures.
