A cellphone video shared with Channel 2 Action News shows a teacher being repeatedly beaten in a Gwinnett County classroom on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened just before noon at Discovery High School in Lawrenceville, according to the wife of the teacher who was attacked. It left him with a bloody mouth and head injuries, as well as dizziness, she said.
"I don't think people should get their shit beaten out of their heads when they go to work," she told Channel 2 bureau chief Matt Johnson at 5pm on Channel 2 Action News, pleading about staying anonymous. “I just want the students and teachers to be safe because my husband signed up to be a teacher. He loves his job."

The video shows another student jumping on the student who started hitting before the situation ended.
A spokesman for Gwinnett County Schools said it is looking into the matter.

On Monday, the beaten teacher spoke to the parents of the student who, according to the teacher's wife, had hit him because of his poor performance in class. The next day, this teacher was beaten in his English class.
"I'm really glad it wasn't worse," his wife said.
It is unclear what disciplinary or criminal charges the student concerned will face. Right now there is relief that another student felt the need to get involved when no one else could.

"I just wish I had more security," said the teacher's wife. "And I want a student not to have to be the one who pulls another student away from my loved one."

The incident came as the Gwinnett School board re-evaluated changes to its disciplinary policy — made earlier this school year — that eased standards for courts. Currently, school officials are reporting a 31 percent increase in the number of students involved in fighting across the district.
