Gwyneth Paltrow is one proud mother.
The Shakespeare in Love star took to Instagram today to wish her daughter Apple Martin a happy 18th birthday. Captioning a photo of Martin, the mother-of-two wrote that she was "a little bit speechless" about the big milestone - but that didn't stop her from sharing a sweet message for her daughter who looks alike.
"I couldn't be prouder of the woman you are," wrote Paltrow, who shares her daughter and son Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin. "You are everything I could have dreamed of and more. Pride doesn't cover it, my heart swells with feelings I can't put into words. You are deeply exceptional in every way. Happy birthday my sweet girl.”
She continued, "I hope you know how special you are and how much light you have brought to all those lucky enough to know you. Especially me. I say it all the time and I will never stop... in the words of Aunt Drew, I was born the day you were born. I love you."
Paltrow's followers also sent love to the teen on her birthday. One wrote: "Apple is lucky to be her mother to say Happy Birthday to your amazing daughter Gwyneth." Another added: "As beautiful as her mother and such a lovely note! Happy Birthday Apple!!!”
Last year, the Glee graduate told W Magazine what it was like to welcome her first child.
"I will never forget when I had my daughter Apple, the incredible rush of love I had for her," Paltrow said at the time. "In almost shock, I said to my mother, 'Do you love me that much?' It completely redefined my idea of motherhood."
Earlier this year, Paltrow also shared an Instagram tribute to Martin on International Women's Day, writing, "Today I want to pay tribute to a (technically almost) woman on the verge of it. This woman gives me hope for the future of the sisterhood and for the future of our planet. And this woman, more than anyone else, made me the woman I am today.”
