A scroll through Instagram and TikTok will quickly show you how popular spiritual practices and pursuits have become. From astrology, crystal healing, and tarot to reiki and palmistry, society is proving to be obsessed with these old school spiritual techniques.
As intrigued as we are by all of these transcendental practices, we are here to focus on palmistry. After all, how cool is it that the natural line formation on your hands could actually have some subliminal meaning? Better still, that the lines could actually help you understand your past and determine your future?
"Palm reading is a great way to find out more about yourself and your future," says Eva White, clairvoyant, spiritualist and 4th generation healer of Psychics1on1, a digital platform that connects people with New Age healers around the world , across from HelloGiggles. "When the dominant palm is read, the main lines can tell you your strengths and weaknesses." What if the lines form an M? Well, that's a whole different story.

Instructions for reading the palm of your hand:
According to White, there is the headline, the love line, and the life line. While the headline represents your mental characteristics and personality, White shows that the love line shows your emotional characteristics and the expectations of your relationships, and the life line shows what to expect in terms of health and longevity.
As for placement, the lifeline is the long, arched line that extends from above your thumb to below, effectively separating it. The head line is the straight diagonal line just above the lifeline that extends down to the outside of your hand. The love line (or heart line) is the curved line directly above it that extends from below your index finger to below your little finger.
Then there's the line of fate, which extends across the center of your palm and represents intuition, which, according to White, shows that you are an old soul. "But not everyone has one," she said. It is the line of fate that connects the head, love and life line to create the letter M on the palm of your hand that leads to ...

What does an "M" mean on the palm of your hand?
“When the head line, heart line, life line, and fate line are connected, it can create the appearance of an 'M' and means that you are fortunate,” says White. "It's also a sign of strong intuition and creativity, as well as determination and career development."
While these are all good things, White says that people with M-palms also face their problems. "The M can also mean that you've been thinking too much or having a tendency to multitask all your life, and that can be exhausting," she says. "But having both palms of your hands with an M will indicate great results from your efforts."
What if there is no "M" line?
Even if you are feeling intuitive and creative, you may not have an M on the palm of your hand. "The formation of the letter M on the palm is a bit unusual," says White, pointing out that it is a rare symbol. "When you don't have an M-shape on the palm of your hand, no hard feelings ... you can still have great personality traits and your own kind of 'happiness' based on the length and depth of your lines."
