Here is Belichick's reaction to the Patriots being eliminated from the NFL playoff race that originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
There are plenty of New England Patriots fans out there who aren't old enough to vividly remember the last time their favorite team didn't make it to the NFL playoffs.
These fans will see how the next month looks.
The Patriots were officially eliminated from the AFC playoff race on Sunday after losing to rivals Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Week 15. The Dolphins scored three touchdowns in the second half en route to a 22-12 win.
The last time the Patriots didn't get a place in the playoffs was in 2008, and their postseason streak of 11 seasons is considered an NFL record.

The Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick, responded briefly and simply when asked about his team's pursuit of a postseason berth on Sunday.
"Disappointed, but we didn't deserve to win today," said Belichick in his post-game press conference.
Patriot Safety Devin McCourty, who is off-season for the first time since his New England draft in 2010, had a similar reaction.
"It sucks, but it is what it is," McCourty admitted. "It's the reality of the situation."
The Patriots have two games left in the regular season. They'll be hosting newly crowned AFC East Champion Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 16 before completing a week 17 matchup against the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium.
