Hollywood Weighs In As Gov. Gavin Newsom Beats Recall Effort: “Vote Was So Lopsided, It’s Basically Elder Abuse”

Update for updates ... Gavin Newsom remains in office as California governor after state voters refused to oust him in recall elections today. The topic has been on the foreground for Californians - and Hollywood - for months, especially the past few weeks, and social media has been flooded with reactions to the results tonight. Check out a selection of these below.
Major news outlets began projecting the result about 40 minutes after polling stations closed at 8 p.m. PT after Los Angeles County's mail-in votes came in large-scale pro-Newsom. The governor knocked back the recall attempt and the Conservative talk show host Larry Elder, who was the lead candidate, to replace him.

Another result was 18 years ago, when the then Gov. Gray Davis was recalled and replaced by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The actor who had become a Pole was re-elected in 2007.
The multi-million dollar recall campaign in the deep blue state in 2021 drew the attention of national media and national politicians. President Joe Biden was in Southern California Monday to deliver a speech for Newsom calling Elder "a clone of Donald Trump." Vice President and Californian native Kamala Harris flew in from Washington, D.C., last week to re-promote the recall and frame the race in the larger context of the struggle for voting and abortion rights.
In the end, it appears to be a landslide defeat for the recall. Here's what entertainment people say about tonight's failed offer:
