How some players plan to show support for Tiger Woods on Sunday
BRADENTON, Fla. - At least some players will be supporting Tiger Woods on Sunday.
Both Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed said at the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship that they will wear a red shirt and black pants for the final round to nod Woods, who was severely affected in a car crash outside of Los Angeles earlier this week had been injured.
Coincidentally, McIlroy and Reed are in the same group on Sunday, starting at 1:30 p.m. ET. They are both four shots away from Collin Morikawa's lead.
It is unclear how many more players will join the show of support. Some players, like Max Homa, likely didn't make the Genesis Invitational journey with this color combination in their luggage.
McIlroy has been one of Woods' closest friends touring for the past decade, while Reed paid homage to Woods by wearing red and black to tournaments.
When asked after his round whether he would wear these clothes at The Concession on Sunday, Reed said, "Yeah. Sure."
