Nice from the house
Some homes have it all: stunning architecture and interior design, historic charm - and even a famous former owner. Somehow, 78 Grandview Boulevard in Reading, Pennsylvania, checks all of those boxes and more. Sydney Redner and her family have lived at this address since 2013, and they happen to be ... preparing ... Taylor Swift's childhood home. Last week, Speaker gave the internet a sneak peek at the formidable house in the form of a TikTok video, which has since received over 728,000 views - and Swifties are drunk with jealousy everywhere.
The speaker was in response to a TikTok trend where users from Berks County, Pennsylvania share their personal connection with Taylor Swift. In the video, Speaker walks through the house straight to the front yard to show the exterior of the house. Then she reveals: "I live in your children's home?"
Built in 1929, the colonial house has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms on an area of 3,560 square feet and sits on 0.75 acres. The house was the inspiration for several Taylor Swift songs (hence the "I grew up in a pretty house" poetry from "The Best Day"), and it is believed that it was here that she wrote some of her earliest hits, including "Teardrops." On My Guitar ”and“ Love Story ”. Speaker admits to House Beautiful, "There is no way to prove this as it has never been confirmed, but it's fun to think about!"
Of course, we had to find out if there were any remains in the house that Swift himself left behind. "There is a label on the cement outside that reads" TAS "," reveals the speaker. Given that these letters spell out Swift's initials (her full name is Taylor Alison Swift), it's likely that this mark was made by the singer herself!

Since the speakers moved into this house seven years ago, some changes have been made to its appearance. The once beige exterior is now white, a decision made by speaker's mother and grandmother Angela Ehst, who is also the family's interior designer. Speaker says she believes the house was also painted white when Swift lived here.
Given Swift's popularity, it's no secret that she used to live in this house. That's why fans often come by to take photos in front of the property. “We have a lot of fans who take photos outside of the house. I have the feeling that there is more during the holidays when people from other countries travel and want to see it, ”reveals speaker. “If Taylor Swift has a concert in Philadelphia or somewhere nearby, there will be more fans around that time. Our family is fine with fans who take photos as long as they are quick and respectful. "
Swift is no stranger to appreciating both the history and the former owners of their homes (um, "The Last Great American Dynasty"), so it is only fitting that those who live in the former Taylor home should do the same !
