The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a recall announcement for five Excedrin brands on December 23. The recall includes Excedrin migraine brackets, Excedrin migraine gels, Excedrin extra strength capsules, Excedrin PM headache capsules, and Excedrin tension headache capsules.
According to the announcement, GSK Consumer Healthcare has recalled these five brands for "failing to meet child-resistant packaging requirements." Almost 433,600 bottles were recalled and were available in various stores and pharmacies between March 2018 and September 2020. The recall affects 50, 80, 100, 125, 200, 250, and 300-count bottles of each of the five brands of Excedrin.
Although no injuries have been reported to date, GSK Consumer Healthcare urges consumers to immediately keep all recalled Excedrin bottles out of the sight and reach of children. You should then examine the bottom of your bottle for holes. If you find a hole in your bottle, you can contact the company for information on how to get a prepaid return label to return the item for a full refund.
