'It's frightening': Alyssa Milano details hair loss, 'brain fog' due to COVID-19
Alyssa Milano describes the ongoing impact COVID-19 has had on her life as an actress, as well as the impact it has on her physical health.
As a result of Dr. Oz Show on Friday, the 47-year-old actress said her first symptoms were "stomach problems," "headache like I've never felt in my life," and "overwhelming fatigue" that lasted three days. Later, she said, she experienced other symptoms such as hair loss.
"It's hard, especially when you're an actor and so much of your identity is wrapped up in things like long, silky hair and clean skin," said Milano, adding that she's also experienced 'brain fog'.

"As someone who needs to memorize the dialogue and be able to emote and respond and be on tiptoe, that's scary."
Milano hopes that by sharing her personal experiences, she can help educate others about the severity of this "debilitating type of illness".
"I felt there were a lot of conflicting opinions about what was going on and how severe the virus was and whether or not you should wear a mask ... and that's why I felt it was important to share my experience with that People can understand the severity of what it is.
"I've been gone 5 months now and some days still have debilitating symptoms," she said, noting that she went to the hospital "three or four times with difficulty breathing" during those months.
Milano first announced that it tested positive for coronavirus antibodies on August 5, after previously receiving two negative COVID-19 tests, despite having "basically every Covid symptom" in late March.
"It was me on April 2nd after being sick for 2 weeks," Milano signed a photo of herself wearing an oxygen mask. "I've never been so sick. Everything hurt. Loss of smell. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't hold food inside. I lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks myself." was confused. Low fever. And the headache was terrible. "
On August 9, the "Charmed" star uploaded a video in which she repeatedly ran a detangling brush over her head and held up the sizable tufts of hair that came out.
"I just wanted to show you how much hair is coming out of my head due to COVID," said the actress and activist, begging her followers to "please take this seriously" and "wear a damn mask".
