Fat Joe has slammed Irv Gotti for comments he made about his relationship with Ashanti while he was a guest on Drink Champs. Joe also called out Ja Rule, who was with Irv during the Drink Champs interview, for not defending Ashanti.
Joe's comments come after Irv spoke of his brief love affair with the R&B singer during his drunken spell on DJ EFN and N.O.R.E.'s podcast. told and at one point even claimed that her hit "Happy" was written right after the two had sex.
Gotti's stories have since rubbed some people the wrong way, including Joe, who called his old friend's recent comments disrespectful.

"Y'all can @IrvGotti yeah what the fuck you want," Joe said in a video posted to Instagram. "Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old, right? I know he raised some points that mean a lot to him, his heart and his soul. But when you keep scolding someone 20 years later, it feels like they're not over the young lady, right?"
He continued, "Besides, we didn't know they were fucking, did we? Because I'm there all the time. "What's Luv", Big Pun record, on tour. I've never seen them together like this. Now I'm not saying they weren't, they were. I've never seen it, but I don't need to know! Well, it's okay if it's in a documentary. You have to tell your truth in your documentary. But to go to drink champs and keep calling her a bitch, to remain disrespectful.
As previously mentioned, Joe suggested that Ja Rule should have stood up for Ashanti during the interview. As noted by TMZ, rapper Venni Vetti Vecci got wind of Joe's comments and fired back, writing, "STOP saying I wasn't defending sister and all women when I clearly told Gotti he's quitting Ashanti/ Calling women the B word like I said Joe von Verzuz watch the interview before you talk shit... LET ME OUT OF GROWN FOLK COMPANIES NOW... ❤️”
Fat Joe wasn't the only one upset by Irv Gotti's Drink Champs performance. Elsewhere in the interview, the respected producer also mentioned his old friend Mic Geronimo, the Queens rapper with whom he worked closely in the 1990s.
"Are we back to Mic Geronimo?" Gotti once said. “Fuck that bitch ass, nigga. I'm drunk but it's really real. fuck you nigga You thought I wasn't the one? Guess what? I'm the only nigga I'm the damn... I'm gonna make those damn hits you'll remember forever."
Geronimo inevitably got wind of Gotti's comments and responded in an Instagram video of his own.
