Jags come away with QB Trevor Lawrence, DL Christian Barmore in new mock draft

The Jacksonville Jaguars now hold number 1 overall and secure it with two more losses. If that happens, and Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence steps into the 2021 NFL draft, what the team should be doing to get the franchise on track will be a breeze.
In CBS Sports' latest mock-up by Josh Edwards, the Jags did what most of them would expect, beating Lawrence as # 1 overall.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars - QB Trevor Lawrence, Clemson
Jacksonville is on the throne for the first time this season. As their first assignment, they choose Clemson's Trevor Lawrence to usher in a new era for the jaguars.
Of course, this scenario was made possible by the New York Jets after they pissed off the Los Angeles Rams. As a result, they share the same record with the Jags (1-13), but the league's tiebreaker rules (decided by the worst strength of the schedule) have a positive effect on the Jags.
As for Lawrence, words cannot express how great he would be for Jacksonville if he advertised outside of the field. As a player, he checks all the boxes (accuracy, experience, athleticism, what you call it) and has been placed in the elite prospect category like John Elway, Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. The crazy thing about his career is that he can add one more tier to his belt before deciding on the draft, as Clemson will fight the state of Ohio for a chance at the national championship.
With the second pick of the Jags in the first round (from the Los Angeles Rams), they addressed another great need with another player who has played in major games. That player was Alabama Defensive Tackle Christian Barmore.
22. Jacksonville Jaguars - DT Christian Barmore, Alabama
Jacksonville has a couple of talented pass rushers in Josh Allen and K'Lavon Chaisson. If the Jaguars can add a skilled center-back, they'll have at least one unit on the roster for years to come.
As explained above, outside of their line of defense, the Jags have potential and need to focus more on inner linemen this off-season. You have players like DaVon Hamilton and Doug Costin who have surfaced, but it appears that another starter is needed. Barmore would be the perfect match as he is a versatile lineman who can play at various points on the defensive line.
This would be a huge challenge for the Jags if they could make it. The quarterback position and inner line of defense are two areas the Jags clearly needed help with during the season.
Still, we'd love to hear from the Jags fans back home. Would you all get along just fine with these two tips, or is there another pairing that would have been better?
