Jalen Ramsey was shocked he finished outside top 10 CBs in Pro Bowl fan voting

Jalen Ramsey joined the Rams in mid-2019 after a trade with the Jaguars but immediately upgraded the overall level of defense. Although he had to study on the run and get used to Wade Phillips' defense quickly, he made for L.A.
He still managed to make the Pro Bowl after playing half the season with Jacksonville and the other half with the Rams. It wasn't his best season, but understandable given the circumstances.
Ramsey has now had a full year in LA and is playing arguably the best he's ever had. He and Aaron Donald are the centerpieces of the Rams' No. 1 defense, and both were re-inducted into the Pro Bowl.
This year's selection meant more to him, however, because that was how he got in. It wasn't the fans who voted Ramsey through. It was the coaches and players who helped make Ramsey a pro bowler after finishing in the top 10 cornerback fan polls.
“It meant a lot, to be honest,” Ramsey said of the honor. “I don't take any of my victories in my life for granted. I honestly don't, ”he said this week. "But I can probably say that it meant a little more to me just because I found out I wasn't even in the top 10 in the fan poll."
Ramsey initially responded with the words "I still love the fans", but in his media session you can tell that he has put a chip on his shoulder. The corners that ended up in the top 10 ahead of him were (in order): Xavien Howard, J.C. Jackson, James Bradberry, Marlon Humphrey, Carlton Davis, Jaire Alexander, Joe Haden, Kendall Fuller, Malcolm Butler, and Marcus Peters.
Howard, Humphrey, Alexander and Bradberry were the only corners in this group that actually made the Pro Bowl.
Always confident, Ramsey made it clear that there are currently no 10 cornerbacks - or even 10 defensive backs - better than him in the NFL.
"It's not a shock to anyone, but I definitely can't call 10 corners better than me in this league - defenders better than me in this league," he said. “That shocked me. But it's all love But seeing the opposing coaches and players I play week after week, what I film and having the respect for my fourth Pro Bowl in a row meant a lot. So it was cool. "
The Pro Bowl vote consists of a third of the fan votes, a third of the player votes and a third of the coach votes. Hence, Ramsey received a lot of help from his colleagues that year. As he said, there are certainly no 10 better cornerbacks in the NFL right now, and while he only has one interception, he consistently bans receivers like DK Metcalf, Mike Evans and DeAndre Hopkins.
An all-pro selection, voted on by media members, should go Ramsey's path again this year.
