Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright share every exclusive detail about their first days of parenthood.
Former Vanderpump Rules stars, who announced the birth of baby boy Cruz Michael Cauchi on Tuesday April 13th, are opening up to E! For the first time, news on everything from Brittany's days of work and birth to the cute meaning behind her son's name and much more.
Read on for our exclusive Q&A with Jax and Brittany about how adorable their newborn son is.
E! News Tell us about the inspiration behind your son's name.
Brittany: From the beginning we picked a girl's name, and when we found out it was a boy, it took us a while to come up with a name. I was probably five months pregnant when we finally settled on Cruz. Cruz means "cross" and coming from a religious family, I found that amazing. Of course, I also think it's super cute and goes so perfectly with Cauchi.
A lot of people don't know that Cauchi is Jax's real last name. His late father's last name is Cauchi so of course we wanted to carry on his legacy with our son and family. Michael is Jax's middle name and the name of his uncle / godfather. As an added plus, Michael was always the name of my mom's favorite boy, which is why she was so excited.

E! News: How did you feel on the way to delivery?
Brittany: Feel all of these emotions! Nervous, excited and definitely ready! I've been extremely sick throughout my pregnancy, but at least he's been giving me a break for the past three weeks after throwing up every day.
I have dreamed of becoming a mother all my life and every day I just thought about how blessed we are to have this experience - even in difficult times. I dreamed of the moment they put him on my chest and I looked into his little eyes first and it was even more amazing than I could have imagined!

Jax: I had ideas on how I thought this would be, but nothing can prepare for it, it's a thousand times better. My father's instincts kicked in and everything else in life seems insignificant. I can honestly say that I've never been as happy as I am now. I now know that this was the role I was born for.
I also now believe that women are the most amazing creatures on the planet. Watching my wife give birth to my son was absolutely amazing. It is amazing to see what the human body can do. Brittany is the strongest woman I know. It wasn't the easiest pregnancy for her, but she got through with no discomfort. The respect and love I show my wife have reached a new level and I am only in awe of her.
E! News: Brittany, guide us through the delivery. How did it go? Was that what you expected
Brittany: I've been at work for 26, 27 hours! It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it was definitely the most beautiful and rewarding. It was all so amazing and now that I had him in my arms I couldn't imagine life without him!
I probably cried the most, but Jax cried too. He was great during labor and supported and encouraged me all along. I have to watch the birth through a mirror. It was so amazing and motivating to see. My mother also had to be in the delivery room with us, which was very special, especially after the close conversation and the tough year she had this year. It was just the perfect day even when I screamed in pain. Our doctor and nurses at Cedars were absolutely amazing!

E! News: Brittany, how amazed are you at what your body can do?
Brittany: I am so amazed and so proud of my body! You can't exactly imagine what it feels like to be pregnant, but it's amazing. Every step, every little movement just makes you fall in love more. After giving birth to my son, I feel so strong and so powerful. I feel more in tune with my body now than ever before. I just look at little Cruz and think it's so crazy that it was inside me like a day ago! I did that!
E! News: When it comes to parents, who do you think will be the good cop and who will be the bad cop?
Brittany: It's a close call because we're so in love right now and can't imagine him ever doing anything wrong.
E! News: What about the parenting you look forward to the most?
Brittany: I just watch him grow and learn new things every day. We can't wait to see what his little personality will look like.
E! News: When the time comes, which Vanderpump Rules babies do you think you have the most dates with?
Brittany: Cruz is the only boy so he'll be a little woman man from the start. I want him to grow up knowing all the babies! I love all of these women and I am so happy that we could have this amazing experience together! It was really a blessing to have the support and advice from everyone!
