Jay-Z and Roc Nation Pay Legal Fees for Alvin Cole's Mother and Others in Wisconsin

Jay-Z and Roc Nation have issued bonds to several protesters in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, including the mother of Alvin Cole - the 17-year-old who was fatally shot by city police.
CBS News reports that Hov and Roc Nation's social justice team, Team Roc, paid an undisclosed amount in court fees for Cole's mother, Tracy, and sisters, Taleavia, Tristiana, and Tahudah, on Thursday. Team Roc also helped weed out several other protesters who were arrested while protesting Cole's death.
Wauwatosa police fatally shot Alvin Cole outside a local mall in February. This week Milwaukee District Attorney John Chisholm announced that the officer who killed Cole, Joseph Mensah, will not be prosecuted.
"In this case, there is ample evidence that Officer Mensah was actually subjectively convinced that lethal violence was necessary and objectively reasonable," Chisholm said in his 14-page review of the incident. "I do not believe that in this case the state could refute self-defense or the defense of others and therefore could not bear the burden of indicting Officer Mensah."
This sparked outrage throughout the community. The Cole family and their supporters took to the streets to protest the decision. They were joined by the family of Jacob Blake, who was shot in the back by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
According to the Wauwatosa Police Department, 24 people were arrested for violating the city's 7pm. Curfew. Cole and Team Roc allege "excessive force" was used in these arrests, while authorities said two protesters sought medical attention.
"Our hearts break for Alvin Cole's family and the Wauwatosa community. Not only have prosecutors failed to hold officer Joseph Mensah accountable for the murder of Alvin, but local police have peacefully arrested and arrested Alvin's mother, Tracy, and his sisters injured protested next to Jacob Blake's father, "said the managing director of Team Roc, Dania Diaz.
