Jennifer Lopez says canceled wedding to A-Rod made them question whether they need to make it legal

Jennifer Lopez could opt for a very, very long engagement to Alex Rodriguez.
The singer and actress, 51, said in Andy Cohen's Deep & Shallow interviews that she and the 45-year-old retired MLB star, who got engaged in March 2019, were considering never making their union official after the pandemic The planned wedding, which was to take place in Italy in June, had taken a break.

When asked if she'd ever thought of following in the footsteps of the famous unmarried longtime love Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, she replied, "Oh yes, we sure talked about that. I mean, we were both our ages married once. Are we getting married? Are we not? What does that mean to us? And it just comes down to liking personal [choice], like: What do you want to do? "
The Hustlers star said there was "definitely no rush" - and said it was "really sad" to cancel the Italian wedding, mostly because "we planned it all" and "spent all the money".
"In March or April we look at the pipe and say," That may not happen. Italy is the worst place in the world, "laughs at the time because of the coronavirus," and we're going to get married [there], "she laughs." I thought, "OK, we have to cancel everything." ... So we have it canceled."
At that point, the plan was to wait a few months and try again, but here in the US the pandemic is worse than ever.
"We tried to regroup for later in the year a few months ago and, no, it was still not the time," she admitted. “So it was just a little disappointing. Then you just think to yourself: Well, things will happen in their divine time. "
Bringing the conversation back to Hawn and Russell, who have been partners since the early 1980s, Lopez said, “But the same as Goldie and Kurt, you think, 'Do you have to? Should we? “It only gave us a moment to pause and think about it. And I think it's something that we may still care about, but there's no rush. There is no rush. It will happen when it does. "
If they walk down the aisle, it would be Lopez's fourth marriage after Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme. She was also engaged to Ben Affleck.
Rodriguez was only married once - to Cynthia Scurtis, mother of daughters Natasha and Ella - but their breakup was particularly bad when Scurtis claimed A-Rod had extramarital affairs, including one with Madonna.
