Jerry Rice Jr. defends dad as GOAT receiver after Randy Moss comments

Jerry Rice Jr. will not let people discredit his father's legacy.
The former UCLA and UNLV recipient took to Twitter to defend 49er icon Jerry Rice after Hall of Famer Randy Moss claimed he was the best to ever play that position.
"So you agree with Randy Number 1," Rice Jr. wrote in response to user Colton Waite. "Do you think my dad had no influence? Randy went deep. My dad caught 5 yards and brought it to the house. Super Bowl scored 21 points in 1 of 4 that he competed in. He scored one with Raiders at the age of 40 48 yard touchdown I can go on but it's too much. "
During a recent episode of the T.O. and Hatch podcast, Moss said he was the GOAT-wide recipient and that Rice wasn't even number 2 on the list.
"I'm going to put myself first, I'll put [Terrell Owens] in second," Moss said. "I think Jerry [Rice] is probably third or fourth. I'm talking about dominating the game and changing the game of football. I don't make a living on statistics because when you live on statistics and championships, it's all political. You saw people being fired or cut off a team by a few words in the media. They saw that guys weren't given contracts just for the color of their skin. They have to throw politics out of the football game and study the effects of it what each individual could achieve in a soccer game. "
Owens, whom Moss spoke to, appeared to recognize Rice's record-breaking NFL stats in a quote tweet.
It was Owens' tweet that led to Rice Jr.'s response.

The younger Rice didn't have to defend his father's place in history, but he did perfectly. Anyone who has watched the NFL over the past four decades knows that Rice is the best receiver who has ever played the game. He's even talking about the best overall player in NFL history. Moss and Owens were great players, but they're not in that conversation.
