Jessica Alba can relate to many parents who find it difficult to take a break as home stay orders continue and schools keep working through Zoom during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
During her appearance on Monday's Drew Barrymore Show, the 39-year-old actress and businesswoman caught up with her never-kissed costar Drew Barrymore and shared similar parental burdens.
"Real conversation: I've told everyone in the family that I need a break from them," said Alba, mother of son Hayes Alba (2½) and daughters Haven Garner (9) and Honor Marie (12).
To escape their daily chores, Alba and her close friend Kelly Sawyer planned a maternity leave. "[We're] going to go away for a week and I don't really know what we're getting into. All I know is that I can't be in my family anymore because I literally had it. I've had enough," said the mother of three laughing.

Not only was Alba peppered with questions from her children and brought them to dinner every evening, but she was also looking forward to the short vacation. "They all come down on me," said the LA best star of her children's many inquiries during the day.
"And then I started nagging. I nag and I'm that person," she joked as she explained how her children and husband Cash Warren react to their moods.
"They say, 'Mom, your tone, you are so mean,'" Alba recalled. "And Cash says, 'Gosh, I guess I'll go back to my man's room.' I ask, "What's new?" I just disappear to take care of everything. So yeah, it was fun, it was really fun. "
Alba and Barrymore, who share daughters Frankie, 6) and Olive (7½) with ex-husband Will Kopelman, also referred to their recent parenting hurdle, getting their girls to bed.

"My 9 year old, she doesn't want to go to bed. It's a fight every night," Alba said when Barrymore replied, "Is it? I'm in Hell right now."
Alba added that her daughter Haven blames her mother's late meal times as the reason for her inability to keep her bedtime schedule. "You know you have to go to bed, boy. It's not a thing," the Honest Company co-founder recalled when she told her middle child.
When Alba talked about breaking the routine and getting away, she recently told PEOPLE that she and her husband Warren took their family "recently as a family on two road trips to get the kids out of the house during this pandemic," and added that she was grateful to witness "How my children act in the world and how they seamlessly absorb new experiences."
