Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell go head-to-head in blood-soaked Ava trailer
Ava is here to kick everyone's ass. Jessica Chastain plays the eponymous assassin in the upcoming action film, and the trailer - which you can see above - has some serious John Wick vibrations.
The story follows Chastains Ava, a murderess who seems to enjoy her work a little too much. After breaking the protocol, Colin Farrell's boss of a shady company sends his mercenaries to end Ava. Supported by her mentor (played by John Malkovich), Ava fights a fight and eventually goes hand in hand with Farrell's character. The result is a bloodbath - as you would expect from a film about murderers on the run.
And if that sounds familiar to you, it's because the storyline appears to have been heavily taken over by the John Wick franchise. In the third film, Keanu Reeves' retired assassin fled from any other assassin working after the company he had once worked for turned against him ...
The official synopses for Ava are: "Ava (Chastain) is a deadly assassin who works for a black ops organization and travels the world to specialize in top-class hits. If a job goes dangerously wrong, she has to do it fight their own survival. "
In addition to Chastain, Farrell and Malkovich, Geena Davis (who was last seen in Netflix 'GLOW), Common and Space Force actress Diana Silvers play.
Ava is expected to hit theaters on September 25, 2020. However, as with all publication dates, this can change at any time. Here you will find all updated information on the release dates of the films this summer and beyond.
