Jimmy Kimmel Goes After ‘Trump in a Wig’ Caitlyn Jenner and the Kardashians
Jimmy Kimmel hailed the end of the long-running reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians on Thursday, calling it the "back end of an era".
The final episode of the show aired earlier that night on the E! Network after running 20 seasons over 14 years that inspired 10 spin-offs. In an Instagram post last September, Kim Kardashian announced the family's decision to give up.
"They said Seinfeld was a show for nothing, but the Kardashians really showed them," Kimmel said. "I think for the whole eighth season Khloe bought a bikini top."
This point was also mentioned by Jordan Julian of The Daily Beast in a piece that was released shortly after the finale aired. The show, she writes, “is now so tangential to [the Kardashians] fame, which exists primarily on social media and their entrepreneurial ventures, that it has nothing new to say. Not for years. "
"Keeping up with the Kardashians" doesn't end with a bang, but with a whimper
In the same vein, added Kimmel, to commemorate his contributions to American culture, the Smithsonian will "flaunt all of its original lips."
The late-night presenter then switched to Caitlyn Jenner's appearance on The View on Thursday, during which the California gubernatorial candidate refused to admit former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Jenner said Trump did "some good things", however, adding that she wants to be a "disruptor" like him in the state capital, to which Kimmel replied, "Are we sure that isn't Donald Trump in a Caitlyn Jenner Wig? "" She's just trying to get attention, "he continued." Caitlyn Jenner has a better chance of becoming the next Batman than California Governor. She knows nothing, really little to nothing. "
