John Cleese Mocks Fox News For Confusing Monty Python With CHAZ Protesters

Comedy legend and Monty Python veteran John Cleese has just farted in the general direction of Fox News.
In a Friday section, Fox tried to suggest that there were problems between demonstrators in Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, an area of Seattle about six blocks away that protesters against police brutality and systemic injustice occupied last week.

The quote-citation evidence for infighting came from a post on Reddit that was allegedly written by someone within CHAZ and was partly: “I thought we were an autonomous collective? At least an anarcho-syndicalist community. We should take turns to act as a kind of executive officer for the week. "
The problem is that the Reddit post actually referred to a scene from the 1975 classic comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”.
The scene shows two pawns, played by Terry Jones and Michael Palin by Monty Python, who explain their company to a confused King Arthur, played by Graham Chapman.
"We are an anarcho-syndicalist community," says Palin's character. “We take turns to act as an executive officer for the week. However, all decisions made by this official must be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting - with a simple majority for purely internal matters and with a two-thirds majority for major issues. "

All comments under the Reddit post that Fox read in the air said, "Finding out that there are arguments and some signs or rebellions against Raz Simone among some occupiers" makes it clear that this is a joke from Monty Python acts.

Fox News' coverage of the autonomous zone was alarming and at best misleading. Tucker Carlson described the zone as "chaos and madness", and Laura Ingraham called it "a Marxist cultural revolution" that hopes to "destroy everything that was before".
HuffPost reporter Michael Hobbes, who has visited CHAZ repeatedly, described something much quieter and more community-oriented in a mail order from the zone this weekend.
The Seattle Times has accused Fox News of publishing digitally altered photos in stories about CHAZ. Fox reports are "a clear violation of ethical standards for news organizations".
Fox News apologized on Sunday, admitting that merging multiple images from different locations was "not clearly outlined".
