John David Washington Joins Christian Bale, Margot Robbie in David O. Russell’s Next Film

John David Washington joined Christian Bale and Margot Robbie in David O. Russell's new Untitled film on New Regency.
Russell will direct from his own script. The details of the plot are kept under wraps.
Executive plans to start production in Los Angeles in January. Emmanuel "Chivo" Lubezki will act as cameraman. The film is distributed through New Regency's contract with Disney's 20th Century Studios. Matthew Budman ("Joy", "American Hustle") produces.
Earlier this year, Michael B. Jordan was tied to the project, but that's no longer the case.
Russell was nominated for the directing and scripting of Academy Awards for American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook. His last directorial work was Jennifer Lawrence's 2015 drama "Joy" for Fox. His other credits include "Spanking the Monkey", "Flirting with Disaster", "Three Kings" and "I Heart Huckabees".
Washington entered the entertainment business as part of the main cast on the HBO comedy series "Ballers", starring as Ron Stallworth in Spike Lee's drama comedy "BlacKkKlansman," which received Golden Globe nominations and the Screen Actors Guild Award. He plays in Christopher Nolan's time travel spy film "Tenet".
Washington also starred with Zendaya in the drama "Malcolm & Marie," which was sold to Netflix last month during the Toronto International Film Festival.
Arnon Milchan founded New Regency in 1984. Company credits include "12 Years Slave," "JFK," "Heat," "Fight Club," "Little Women," "The Big Short," and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith. " Milchan has nominations for an Oscar for best picture for "L.A. Confidential ”and“ The Revenant ”. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
