Johnny Depp’s $55 Million French Village Has a Bistro, Wine Cave and Skate Park. Now It’s Up for Sale—Again.

When Johnny Depp first listed his French estate in 2015 and 2016, the asking price hovered between $ 25 million and $ 63 million, according to Variety, and the place was never sold. Now he's preparing to re-list the property for about $ 55.5 million, according to news reports.
It's possible that the quirky actor best known for his role as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise is reading the right times. After months of living in private houses who don't want to own such a property: it's actually an entire village with a bistro, a wine cave, a skate park and several houses. After its abandonment, the village is in Le Prov De La Tour in Provence, a small region about a dozen miles outside the hotspot of the Côte d'Azur in Saint-Tropez. It's full of charm as well as bathrooms - count them, 14 - and bedrooms (15) spread across six guest houses and a main residence.

Depp bought the site in 2001 for an undisclosed amount and, according to Toptenrealestatedeals.com, spent millions renovating the 19th-century buildings. All of this was during the 14 years he was in a relationship with French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis. The couple spent time there with their two children Lily-Rose and Jack, enjoyed the village's two swimming pools, dined in the in-house Depp bistro called Chez Marceline and explored the lush surroundings with 300-year-old oaks, olive trees and vineyards until they separated in the year 2012. Depp is said to have decorated the structures himself.
The 4,500 square meter main residence includes five bedrooms and three and a half baths, while one of the six guest houses was originally the town church. The village also includes a covered wagon with a bathroom and kitchen, a fully equipped gym, a pirate-like cave and art studio, and al fresco dining in the town square. It has been reported that the square footage for the living quarters is between 12,900 and 14,500 square feet.
