Cobra Kai's official Twitter account also announced the news, in which Johnny wrote, “CALM! I've heard you all moan about season 3 going on forever. So I called the pawn shop and the guy took me through this Netflix thing. Dude knows his way around. Now you get it a week earlier. See you January 1st, nerds - Johnny Lawrence ”.
As an added bonus, the cast of Cobra Kai will join hosts David Spade, Fortune Feimster and London Hughes to discuss Season 3 at the Netflix Afterparty on January 2nd.
Johnny and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) are joined by two characters from the Karate Kid universe, Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) and Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita), signaling a possible return to Okinawa in the coming season. In season 3, everyone stumbled after the violent brawl between their dojos, which Miguel left in a precarious state. While Daniel seeks answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese continues to manipulate his vulnerable students with his own vision of domination. The soul of the valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei depends on balance.
The cast also includes Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Gianni Decenzo (Demetri) with Martin Kove (John Kreese) and Peyton List (Tory).
Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg through their production company Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett co-produce with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television for Overbrook Entertainment. Macchio and Zabka act as co-executive producers.
