JoJo Fletcher Recalls Exchanging 'I Love You's' with Ben Higgins on The Bachelor : 'Dear Lordy'

Fans will always remember when Ben Higgins violated a basic bachelor's rule and dropped the L-bomb on two of his candidates, not one.
Monday's episode of ABC's retrospective series The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons - Ever! I'll look back at the 2016 Higgins season in which the business analyst got engaged to Lauren Bushnell after saying goodbye to his other finalist, JoJo Fletcher. The suggestion came after Higgins famously exchanged "I love you's" with both women - a big no-no, and the first time in franchise history. (But certainly not the last one.)
In PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek, the show takes viewers back to the moment when Higgins expressed his love for Fletcher during their Fantasy Suite date.
"When I think about the future, there is no doubt in my mind that I want to spend it with you," says Fletcher. "I do, I love you. And it's strange that I just said that because I was so afraid to say it."
When Higgins says Fletcher that he loves her too, she can't hide her shocked expression. They kiss, but then Higgins admits in a confessional that he's torn between the two women.
"I'm in love with two women here - I just didn't know how hard it was going to be," he says.
The clip then shows today's Chris Harrison, who welcomes Fletcher via video chat.
"One of the most memorable moments in the history of the bachelor's degree: Ben tells two women that he loves them," recalls Harrison. "And I will never forget the look on your face. You have a terrible poker face."
"Oh dear Lord," replies Fletcher.

But everything is good, it ends well. The 29-year-old Fletcher directed her own season of The Bachelorette, in which she met the 31-year-old finalist Jordan Rodgers and fell in love with him. They recently celebrated their four-year engagement anniversary and were due to tie the knot on June 13th. The coronavirus pandemic forced them to postpone their wedding date by one year.
Higgins (31) and Bushnell (30) split in May 2017. Bushnell is now married to country singer Chris Lane (35), and Higgins proposed to his girlfriend Jessica Clarke in March.
The Bachelor: The greatest seasons ever! will be broadcast on ABC on Mondays (8 p.m. ET).
