Joseph Kosinski In Talks To Direct ‘Twister’ Reboot At Universal

Joseph Kosinski, director of the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick, is reportedly in talks with Universal to lead a remake of the 1996 action film Twister about a couple of assault hunters on the verge of divorce that are joining together and fighting - hair extreme violent tornadoes to create an advanced weather warning system.
The original film, which was the second feature film for DP Jan de Bont after Speed in 1994, made almost half a billion at the global box office and starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. In this version Frank Marshall produces with the search for a writer. Steven Spielberg was EP in the first film, and the late Michael Crichton wrote the screenplay. Variety had the news first.
