Julio Jones trade: Details emerge regarding fourth-round pick
The Falcons sent Julio Jones along with a pick for the sixth round in 2023 to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday morning in exchange for a pick in the second round in 2022 and a fourth in 2023. Three days after the trading terms were announced, it's now official Titans created the necessary cap space to bring Jones in.
Atlanta has nearly $ 15 million in cap space, which is enough to sign the 2021 draft class and ensure the team is cap-compliant once we reach the 53-man roster.
A detail of the deal was revealed on Wednesday in relation to the fourth round election the Hawks received. That selection will indeed be conditional - so if the Titans get a compensatory selection on round four, the Hawks will get that selection. If not, Atlanta receives Tennessee's original fourth-round election.
Tennessee got a compensating round fourth round election in 2022 due to the departure of tight end Jonnu Smith this offseason and could see more departures next season with 36 players going to the open.
